A Shoe Refashion

So yesterday we were heading home from church and we see a yard sale sign a block from our house. We decide to check it out so we fallow the directions to the yard sale. They had some good books, some shelves, some small sized clothes, an old sewing machine and some shoes. A pair of wedge shoes caught my eye. I have wanted wedge shoes for close to 5 years now, but I've rarely come across them, and when I have I didn't have money on me. So we bought them. For a buck fifty. Score!

They weren't the prettiest shoes. They had weird flowers on them, but since I've been on this refashion kick I knew I could make them into something awesome. And I totally did.

This is what the shoes looked like when I bought them.

Luckily, the flowers were easy to remove.
Then I cut the seams from a button down shirt I had laying around. It's a burgundy color I thought went well with the gold.

The curved pieces I attached to the top of the shoes.

Then I attached the ends of the straps to the other piece of fabric to tie around the ankle.

Oh look. Cream and burgundy colored buttons!

So those got sewn on too.

So here's what the shoes look like now. My first shoe refashion is a success!
